Understanding Santa Monica

Close-up of white sand with rippled surface and shadows

Santa Monica offers no shortage of ways to feel better. The ocean, the trails, the yoga studios, the wellness culture: this community genuinely supports health, movement, and self-care. If you live here, you have likely tried many of these, and some of them have probably helped.

But feeling better and understanding yourself are not the same thing. Self-care practices can address the surface of your experience without ever reaching what generates it. You may have noticed that the same feelings return once the practice ends, or that the discipline required to maintain your routines has quietly become another form of pressure. When discomfort persists despite everything you are doing to manage it, the discomfort is usually communicating something that management alone cannot resolve. It is asking to be understood.

Therapy is not another item on a wellness routine. It resists optimization. In our work together, I help bring what has been managed to the surface, so that what keeps returning can finally be heard. I see clients from Santa Monica and across the Westside. If you are interested in starting, schedule a consultation to see if we are a good fit.

Therapy Services

A staircase with worn steps leading up between two white walls, with dark cloudy sky above.

Space to understand what self-care alone cannot reach.

Person sitting on the floor with knees up, hugging arms and face down on knees, against a plain light-colored wall.

For adolescents navigating anxiety, identity, and self-esteem.

Shared experience with others who understand.

My specialties

What I Help With

Wellness culture offers many ways to manage how you feel. When those strategies stop working, something deeper is usually asking to be heard.

I also work with OCD, neurodivergence, self-esteem, personality disorders, psychosis, and trauma, along with many other concerns.

Why Work With Me

My Approach

Depth Over Quick Fixes

Santa Monica offers no shortage of ways to feel better in the moment. The psychodynamic approach I practice works with the parts of you that self-improvement alone cannot reach.

Telehealth Across California

For clients whose lives move between the beach, the office, and everything in between, video sessions offer consistency without adding another commute.

Thoughtful Pacing

Therapy is not another item on your wellness routine. It resists optimization. Sometimes the most important thing that happens in a session is that nothing gets fixed.

Cultural Sensitivity

I speak English and Farsi, and I understand how cultural background and family expectations quietly shape what we allow ourselves to need. I welcome clients of all identities and experiences.
